What is Jannat al-Firdaws?

Answered by Mawlana Ilyas Patel

Question

Can you briefly describe Jannat al-Firdaws?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

I pray you are in good faith and health.

Jannat a-Firdaws is the highest and most ideal of levels to aspire to, and pray to Allah Most High to grant it to us. Above it is the throne of Allah Most, and from it flows the rivers of paradise. We should ask for Jannat al-Firdaws for entry into Paradise (jannat).

Allah Most High said, “Firdaws as their own. They will be there forever.” [Quran, 23:11]

In another verse, “Indeed, those who believe and do good will have the Gardens of Firdaws as an accommodation.” [Quran, 18:107]

One Hundred Levels in Paradise Beneath the Throne

Mu’adh ibn Jabal (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, ‘Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan, performs the prayers, and makes the Hajj pilgrimage to the House, it is a duty upon Allah to forgive him whether he emigrates in the path of Allah or remains in the land of his birth.’ Mu’adh said, ‘Shall I not tell the people?” The Prophet said, “Leave them to work. Verily, Paradise has one hundred levels; the distance between them is like the heavens and the earth. Al-Firdaws is the highest and most ideal level, for above that is the Throne of the Most Merciful and from it flow the rivers of Paradise. When you ask from Allah, ask for Al-Firdaws.’” [Tirmidhi]

Ask Allah for the Highest Level of Paradise-Jannat al-Firdaws

‘Ubada ibn al-Samit (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “Paradise has one hundred levels, and between every two levels is a distance like that between the heavens and earth. Al-Firdaws is its highest level, from which four rivers of Paradise flow, and above is the Throne. When you ask from Allah, ask for Al-Firdaws.” [Tirmidhi]

May Allah Most High grant us all al-Firdaws and give us success to do actions for it to be granted, amin
