Does Inserting a Finger into My Nose Break the Fast?

Hanafi Fiqh

Answered by Shaykh Abdullah Anik Misra

Question

Does it break my fast if I insert a finger into my nose?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate

No, inserting a finger into your nose does not break your fast. Even putting water up into the soft part of the nose does not break your fast. In general, focus on the main point of the fast, which is not to eat, drink or have relations, and be in a state of worship and mindfulness of Allah, while ignoring misgivings about breaking the fast.
