Question

Is it permissible to connect someone to support resources in cases of harm?

Answer

I pray you are well.

Assisting Others in Times of Harm

It is absolutely permissible, and indeed good, to connect someone to support resources when they are experiencing harm, such as domestic violence or similar situations. If one has the means to assist in this way, it is a praiseworthy action.

This falls under the general principle of helping others in good. As mentioned, “help each other do something good.” One should, however, ensure that no impermissible means are involved in the process.

Facilitating Access to Support

In many cases, individuals may need access to shelters or support institutions. Assisting them in accessing such resources can be a real benefit and source of relief. Providing this kind of help supports those in difficulty and helps them find safety and stability.

A Means of Divine Opportunity

Helping others in such circumstances is a blessing. If Allah grants a person the opportunity to be a means of assistance to someone in need, they should take it. It is a gift to be able to support others and serve them in times of hardship.
