Can I Get a Nose Job for My Husband as I Wear Niqab, Anyway?

Question

Nothing is wrong with my nose medically, but can I get a nose job to please my husband? I wear a niqab, so non-mahrams don’t see me. Does the saying by `A’isha (Allah be well pleased with her) apply here, where she states if a woman could remove her eyes and change her color for her husband, she should? Is it authentic?

Answer

Thank you for your question. It is not permissible to get your nose surgically changed to please your husband, as it counts as changing the creation of Allah Most High. I am unfamiliar with the saying of `A’isha,’ which you mention.

The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) was asked: It was said, “O Messenger of Allah, what type of wife is best? He said, ‘The one who makes (her husband) happy when he looks at her, and she obeys him if he instructs her to do something, and she does not do anything about herself or his wealth in a manner of which he does not approve.’” [Musnad of Ahmad]

Take the means to adorn yourself with jewelry, perfume, pretty, feminine clothing, make-up, and hairstyles, and submit to the Creator who made no mistakes when he created you.
