What is the Ruling on Halal Wine?

Question

What is the ruling on halal wine?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

From short research and perusal of the websites of various vendors of ‘halal wine,’ the following outcomes must be understood:

1) The ‘halal wine’ is de-alcoholized via an evaporation process (i.e., the alcohol which was there was removed); such a drink is considered impure and strictly prohibited as opposed to a drink that never had any alcohol therein.

2) Even if the referred-to products were non-alcoholic from the beginning, the packaging and the whole vibe of the product and the website is an emulation of wine and the culture around it, not to mention the extravagance in the promotion of this product.

The believer upholds dignity because of the blessing Allah has bestowed on them, guidance. Allah Most High has guided us to that which allows us to transcend the lowly and shameful behavior of some disbelievers. In gratitude for this blessing, we must behave with dignity and not affiliate anything undignified or resembling that.

Hope this helps
