Can Items Be Sold If They Might Be Used for Haram Purposes?
Answered by Shaykh Yusuf Weltch
Question
Is it permissible to sell items like phones, TVs, or knives, knowing they could potentially be used for haram purposes?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate
It is permissible to sell any item that can be used in a permissible manner. [Ibn ‘Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar]
If the buyer goes on to use these items in an impermissible manner, you are not accountable. That is unless you are reasonably sure or certain that they have a sinful intent in purchasing the item. [Ibid.]
Hope this helps
