Question

Is it permissible to take an extra $20 from ticket sales without the company’s knowledge if I am already entitled to a commission, or is this considered deception?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

If there is a system through which commission is dispensed to the employees after all has been collected, then it is impermissible to take your portion early. [Ibn ‘Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar]

If, however, you are rightfully owed the commission and are not being paid it, it is your right to raise this concern with your boss, but you are not permitted to take the money.
