Must Expiation for an Ihram Violation Be Given Within the Haram?

Question

Must a charity or a sacrifice for an Ihram violation be carried out within the Haram?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate.

If a person cuts their hair or applies perfume by accident, or commits a similar violation, they are required to give sadaqa (charity).

The sacrifice required for violations committed in the state of Ihram needs to be carried out within the Haram, meaning in Makka and its surrounding sacred boundaries.

Facilitating the Process

In our times, this process has been made much easier. One may arrange for the sacrifice or charity through available services. For instance, one can inquire at their hotel for the relevant details, after which they may use a designated service to carry out the sacrifice or distribute the charity on their behalf within the Haram.

This has streamlined the process, making it easier for pilgrims to fulfill their obligations properly.

And Allah knows best.
