Can Anyone Attain the Rank of Firdous? Can You Share Any Dua?

Question

I envy the scholars as they envy the Companions of the Prophet because of their position in heaven. Can anybody be in Firdous with the Prophet and sidiqin (صدیقین) and shuhada (شهدا) by asking Allah Most High even if he is not as good as them in religious science and good jobs? Would you please share some good dua about it?

The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “ someone tells the truth a lot then finally he is known for Allah as an Honest (صدیق). Does it mean he is a sidiqin (صدیق) in Ferdows just because of leaving lying?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

Attaining Firdaus

Firdaus is attainable by Muslims, even though they are not prophets or scholars.

Allah Most High says, “Verily those who believe and do righteous deeds, there is for them Gardens of Paradise as entertainment in which they will live forever, and will not wish to move from there.” [Quran, 18:107-8]

The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “When you ask for Paradise, ask for Firdaws. For verily, it is the center of Paradise and its zenith. Above it is the Throne of the Most-Merciful. From it gushes all the rivers of Paradise.” [Bukhari]

Supplications for Paradise

One should ask Allah Most High for the highest levels of Paradise. However, how you say it is more important than what you say in your supplication.

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and give him peace) said, ”Call upon Allah while you are confident it will be answered. And know that Allah doesn’t answer prayers (that come) from a heedless and distracted heart.” [Tirmidhi]

The Meaning of Siddiq

The word Siddiq has the meaning of truthfulness. However, there are many levels of truthfulness. The first step to complete truthfulness (sidq) is to be truthful in speech. This is what the narration you quoted eludes to. The second level of truthfulness is inward truthfulness. That one is true in the intentions and true in directing their heart wholly to Allah Most High.

The one who realizes both the outward and inward realities of truthfulness is a Siddiq.

Hope this helps
Allah A’lam
