Can I Wax Myself During the First 10 Days of Dhul Hijja?

Question: As salam alaykum,

Is it permissible for a woman to wax herself during the first 10 days of Dhul Hijja?

Answer: Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.

In general, it is recommended– and not obligatory– for the one sacrificing to avoid cutting their hair and nails before their animal is actually sacrificed because of the tradition of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) instructing as such.

However, if there is a need or benefit in doing so, or an extended period of time would pass such that a person would fall into the dislikedness of delaying such personal upkeep, then the personal upkeep would be given preference.

And Allah alone gives success.
