Answered by Mawlana Ilyas Patel
Question
Is it haram to consume foods like pasta, tomato sauce, and peanut butter, which may contain trace amounts of insect fragments allowed by the FDA?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate
I pray you are in good faith and health. Thank you for your question.
It is not forbidden to consume foods such as pasta, tomato sauce, and peanut butter, which may contain trace amounts of insect fragments. This is due to the fact that it is challenging to eliminate these fragments from food or medicine completely. As a result, their presence is generally accepted based on widespread custom.
