Will Women Be Granted What Men Will Be Granted in Paradise?

Answered by Mawlana Ilyas Patel

Question

To motivate men, Allah promises them that in Paradise, they can have everything they desire and they can have the kind of marriage life they desire. So every man who obeys Allah and is admitted to Paradise, Allah will give him the marital life he desired in this world and more. I, too, have desires and wishes.

If I obey Allah and try my best to please Him, will He reward me in Paradise with the type of marriage life that I really desire and wish for? I mean, at the end of the day, I, too, have to avoid haram and worship Allah just like men. So, can I at least have the marital life that I desire? If only a man can have the marital life he desires and a woman can, then this means that in Paradise, a woman is punished in a way since she can’t have

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate.

I pray you are in good faith and health. Thank you for your valuable question and for seeking an Islamic answer.

When Allah Most High addresses the believers, He includes the women too. Contemplate this verse, and ponder whether Paradise is a place for male fulfillment and female deprivation:

Allah Most High has said, “Surely (for) Muslim men and women, believing men and women, devout men and women, truthful men and women, patient men and women, humble men and women, charitable men and women, fasting men and women, men and women who guard their chastity, and men and women who remember Allah often—for (all of) them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.” [Quran, 33:35]

Does the above verse sound like Allah is being unfair to you?

You will know in Paradise, in sha’ Allah, what you want, and Allah will already have that planned for you. Please try to think outside of this earthly realm, and have contentment with what Allah has told us in His book, “They shall have whatever they wish with their Lord.” [Quran, 39:34]
