What Is the Proper Way of Saying the Tasbih of Prostration (Sajda) and Taslim in the Prayer?

Hanafi Fiqh

Question

What happens if we say subhana rabi al a’la before reaching the ground? What if we say it as we are getting up? Also, I understood that takbir should be said throughout the movement, but what about the taslim?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

I pray you are well.

The proper way of saying the Tasbih of prostration is in the prostration itself when one settles into it. [‘Ala‘uddin Ibn ‘Abidin, Al-Hadiyyah al-‘Ala’iyyah]

If one says the tasbih while going down or standing up, it will not necessitate a sajdat al-Sahw (forgetfulness prostration)

The Takbir should be said as soon as one moves from one posture and ends saying it when one settles into the new posture. [Ibid]

When one finishes the three supplications, one will say the closing salams turning the head first right, then to the left. [Ibid]
