Am I Considered Excused If I Have Regular but Not Constant Discharge?

Hanafi Fiqh

Answered by Mawlana Ilyas Patel

Question

I experience regular but not constant discharge from my private parts. Would this be considered continuous discharge, and would my prayers remain valid if the discharge occurs during Salah? Is it necessary to repeatedly renew Wudu in this situation?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

I pray you are in good faith and health. Thank you for your question.

This will not be considered a continuous discharge. You should pray when you are free from it.

Condition for Being an Excused (Madhur)

The condition for being qualified as an excused person (Madhur) is that an entire prayer time passes with the excuse (that renders one unable to retain wudu) present such that one did not have enough time to perform a minimal wudu and pray a quick prayer.
