Answered by Shaykh Yusuf Weltch
Question
My father secretly works despite his arthritis, which likely affects the government’s calculation of our financial situation for student grants. I applied for the grant, and we received 3,000 euros, of which my father gave me 1,000. Am I complicit in this, and what should I do?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate
Any wealth that is acquired by deception and lying is impermissible wealth.
