Are Fat-Dissolving Injections Permissible?
Answered by Mawlana Ilyas Patel
Question
Are fat-dissolving injections permissible if they safely reduce fat cells in a localized area without surgery or haram ingredients? Would this be considered changing Allah’s creation at a cellular level?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate
I pray you are in good faith and health. Thank you for your question.
It would be permissible to use interventions that improve one’s health if they are safe and approved by reliable doctors. For example, if one has excess fat that causes serious distress, etc.
Islam permits restoring areas of the body that are deformed or damaged to their normal appearance.
