Is It Permissible to Create Fake Evidence for ISO Compliance?

Answered by Shaykh Irshaad Sedick

Question

Is it permissible to create fake evidence for ISO compliance if the organization plans to implement the standard and maintain compliance afterward?

Answer

In the name of Allah (Most High), and with blessings upon the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace),

Creating fake evidence for ISO compliance is impermissible in Islam, even with the intention of future compliance. Islam emphasizes honesty and integrity in all dealings. Allah (Most High) says:

“Indeed, Allah does not guide one who is a transgressor and a liar.” [Quran, 40:28]

Deceit, even for a seemingly good purpose, is prohibited. The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said:

“The one who cheats us is not from us.” [Muslim]

Instead of falsifying documents, the organization should work honestly towards compliance, ensuring ethical and lawful practices.

Conclusion

Creating fake evidence is not permissible. Compliance must be pursued with honesty and integrity.

And Allah knows best.
